About Pink Creative
Pink Creative Studios was created to eliminate procrastination
Steven Pressfield, the author of, The War of Art, writes clearly and concisely about the goal crushing act of resistance, which then took me to my trekkie days of resistance is futile. Pressfield lumps resistance in with evil, and the Borg were certainly that. Fight one of the biggest resistances to achieving completion – Procrastination. In short, hire the pink, and shut the door on distraction. Finish what’s inside of you.
“Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.”
Kim’s Story
First memory of wanting to be a writer is the 3rd grade. I wrote a play about a panda. I directed it as well. I remember the face of the boy who played my lead, Mama Panda. He wasn’t to keen about the Shakespearean aspect of the drag he pulled off, but not his name. I have done some other things along the way to now.
- In 2005, Kim Shepard, the founder of 68 monkeys, produced, The Potted Plant: A Housewife’s Guide, at the Shelton’s Theater in the famous Financial District of San Francisco.
- In 2006, Kim Shepard, published an on-line lifestyle magazine, Urban Jungle
- And in 2007 and beyond started working on a graphic novel, Triangle. (see below)
Kim’s History
2010 was a big year, Grant, my husband and the father of my two children died unexpectedly. It was a shock to us all and the last nine years have been potentially filled with ABC After School Special sized dramas, but for the most part further tragedy was avoided. They both graduated highschool and have gone on to University and beyond into adulting. With the child rearing years now over, and here I was, a widow at 50, what was going to be my second half of living. As I still needed to work. My paid gigs were mostly taking other people’s money, in exchange for things, counting other people’s money, or data entering the spending and earning of other people’s money, all for not a ton of money.
One of Grant’s favorite books, as well as my father’s, was Joseph Campbell’s book that talked about following your bliss. The thought of data entry was not very blissful, so what was/is? I love the creative process. And some would say, because of my Virgo tendencies of wanting all to be happy and successful, that my hostess with the mostess membership is almost legendary. So at mid-century with both kids out of the house, I decided to work for myself, and combine the two, and create a space for the creative.
